This collage series came together from feeling one way of “normalcy” which is represented from the watercolor paper, and then metaphorically being ripped apart emotionally to assemble oneself in a facade that you’re put together yet fearing what is the unknown which is where the collage component comes into play.

This piece specifically is about how bright the soul shines despite having horrible news, and all the pain associated with the awfulness of cancer. This piece is raw, and “naked symbolic for hair loss. This is why this piece DOES NOT have a resin finish compared to the rest of the collage series.

The glittery paper represents the soul and how strong women are who have breast cancer- this piece is truly powerful and full of graceful strength.

This work DOES NOT have a thin resin layer representing the new and shiny you that emerges through this entire process- representing the reconstructive component that comes after breast cancer.
